In the cave I sit alone
So very crowded, and no one’s home.
So full of memories when I was never there.
Nothing to do but sit, feel and stare.
Sort through it all I know I was there.
I tried to tell them but they didn’t care.
Now here I am, we know what we’ve done.
We agreed to play games when we strayed from the sun.
Straight from sun Now here we are
playing our games Living our farce
Looking at you and seeing me
Seeing it all, and knowing I made it be
And you did too but you don’t really exist
“they” put some labels on you
and ”you” couldn’t resist.

When I heard about Alaska’s aerial hunting policy, I remembered a tour I was given at the Carnivore Preservation Trust in North Carolina. Our tour guide mentioned a reintroduction of wolves in an area where wolves had been eradicated. The hunters in this area were shooting more trophy bucks, and there were reports of healthier herds following the reintroduction. Our informed tour guide said that this was a result of the wolves targeting the weaker or sicker of the herds. This in turn leads to more resources for the stronger and healthier to thrive strengthening both predator and prey. This is one small example of the interconnectedness of all life in an ecosystem. It is this interconnectedness that makes the idea of killing packs of wolves and bears from aircraft very disturbing. Maybe they’ll get some type of biologist or scientist of any merit in Alaska but for now we have the Defenders of Wildlife. Please sign their petitions, donate what you can if you can. Become informed, so you can go out and inform. I would have not been privy to this horror had someone not told me. There are good people who will know this is wrong, but first they need to know it is happening.
Check out this video, and help them make their goal of 100,000 messages at https://secure.defenders.org/site/Advocacy?pagename=homepage&page=UserAction&id=1329&s_einterest=C3C4.
This is not the only issue Defenders of Wildlife takes on. There are plenty of animals who are threatened by our greed and shortsightedness. Stay up with other Defenders of Wildlife issues, and find out what they are doing about these issues here http://www.defenders.org/ .
Security Secretary Janet Napolitano almost hit the nail on the head in an Interview with BBC on the issue of drug violence in Mexico.
“What’s different now is the escalation in violence, and that’s caused by two things. One is we’ve made some inroads in clamping down on the drug trafficking routes and so they are fighting amongst themselves for territory. But the most important thing is the federal government of Mexico is now battling these cartels.”
Allow me to restate: The violence in Mexico is caused by two things, 1) The pressure from the US government where territorial violence began and 2) Mexico is now battling these cartels (which is according to Janet Napolitano the most important issue, at least the one they want you to keep your eye on.) Now…wait a minute. So you figured it out? I’m near speechless. You actually understand that these problems are caused by America’s and Mexico’s Government Interference, or just Government Interference (perhaps we’ll call this the common denominator). Wow just a taste of enlightenment from our government is refreshing. Of course no such luck. Turns out all the government pressure is necessary to prevent a “narco state” being made of our good neighbor Mexico. I’m going to need to see this one in Webster’s. She also states that action cannot wait for legislation, almost sounds like she is a treasury secretary. There is no time for restrictions to their power they just need more power.
Now back to this Narco State which should 1) exist or 2) not exist. According to our security secretary it is a future threat to our security, or as I like to call it imaginary, thus it falls into the “not exist” category. But this non-existent narco state means all the violence and persecution are justified. The problems that these governments created make the situation worse, and then the new worsened situation is used to justify more meddling or government interference, which does more damage. I would like to draw your attention to a state closer than an imagined “narco state” next door. It’s the reptilian state all around us. From sea to shining sea. Whether literal or abstract, the reptilian state is very existent. We can deny it sovereignty when we reclaim our power and right to choose but that would require a populace willing, even obliged to decide for themselves. Whether you agree or disagree, please take the time to pay attention to what is really happening. Thanks for reading.
